In the U.K. magazine, Pride, Nia long is quoted as saying this:
“If you’re a singer not an actress, you should sing. If you’re a rapper, you should rap.”
In the July issue cover story written by Jessica Huie, Long was also asked what she thought about Beyonce Knowles’ performance in ‘Obsessed.’
“I didn’t see ‘Obsessed,’ so I can’t comment, but it’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate?’ When you see certain people – we won’t name names – they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes,’” Long replied.

This is a hard story to go after because I totally agree with her. It seems as though there are people thrown in films just for the box office revenue. On the other hand, people like Beyonce get heavy fan criticism, not necessarily industry criticism for attempting career crossover moves but the reality is that she really wants to be good at everything. I would hope that Beyonce is taking acting classes but she is at least starting small and working her way up. She has not attempted a "Glitter" leading roll which is great for her to get practice. Plus this makes Nia Long look a little bitchy but I agree, it needed to be said. There are seasoned actors who do not get the work or attention Beyonce would get in a film these days unfortunately.
i mean she speaking the GOD honest truth.. Bey is no where near a decent actress... She's a great musician and performer.... Movie Producers use Beyonce because she has that name to draw people to the box office, NOT BECAUSE SHE HAS TALENT... And people like Terrence and Queen are different they are great actors who also make great music. Queen and Terrence have done awesome movies that have received great reviews and have been nominated for Oscars...
