R.I.P To DJ AM!

Despite reports that DJ AM (born Adam Goldstein) might have been depressed over a recent breakup with model Hayley Wood before his death on Friday, law enforcement sources believe the celebrity DJ's death was an accidental drug overdose, not suicide.

Citing unnamed police sources, TMZ reported that recovering addict AM had developed a dependency on Xanax and a number of other anti-anxiety drugs after the fiery plane crash he and Blink-182's Travis Barker survived last year. Both men were seriously injured in the accident, which took four lives and resulted in Barker and AM receiving a number of painful skin grafts to treat the second- and third-degree burns they suffered.

AM (born Adam Goldstein), 36, was found dead in his Soho apartment in New York on Friday evening, reportedly with a crack pipe and prescription pills nearby. Like a number of friends who expressed grief over AM's death over the weekend — including musical partner Travis Barker, ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore and a host of fellow DJs — Pinsky said he was upset by the loss of someone he considered a "very close" friend. The doctor said AM had been a model for people going through addiction and praised him for his selflessness in helping others get clean. (MTV.com)

Chris Brown Still "Can't Believe" That He Assualted Rihanna

When Chris Brown sees the infamous leaked photo of ex-girlfriend Rihanna with a bruised and battered face following his early-morning assault on her on February 8, he still can't believe it.

"When I look at it now, it's just like, wow, like, I can't — I can't believe that — that actually happened," Brown told CNN's Larry King in an interview slated to run on Wednesday night, his first since his arrest in February. Brown also claims in the interview that he cannot remember that night's violence, which police said included the then-19-year-old singer punching, biting and choking Rihanna.

Brown told King that he still loves Rihanna and that he's still in love with her, but the judge's stay-away order will keep him apart from the singer for the next five years. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault on June 22 in a deal that helped him avoid up to five years in jail, but includes five years of probation and six months of community labor service.

Brown said he realizes now that his violent actions have real-world consequences. "They want me to pick up trash, remove graffiti," he said, dubbing the judge's sentence as fair. "I'm a hard worker. It's something I'm willing to do."

Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, told King that he's grown to love the singer as a "son or a nephew," and that the sentence means Brown has to walk "the straight and narrow for five years."

So far, Brown appearsto have gotten off to a shaky start, as questions were raised last week on the day of his sentencing about whether his celebratory dancing at a Los Angeles nightclub may have been a violation of his probation (Peep This). A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office and one for the probation department said on Friday that they have not opened any investigation into whether a probation violation occurred. Memphis Bleek: Timbaland Leaks Jay Z's Record!

If another record from Jay Z's 'Blueprint 3' album leaks, we won't have anything to look forward too. I mean, we've already heard Off That, Reminder, Venus vs. Mars, D.O.A, Run This Town-what will be next?

During an interview with Hip Hop Wired, Jay Z's BFF, Memphis Bleeks lets us know who did the leakage!

"Man , you know where that's coming from. That's Timbo's camp. Somebody is playin' dirty. It's cool though. I like to see the people's opinions. I've been reading the comments on Jay's records saying that the beats don't sound like this or that. I think they just set the bar too high for my guy."

Rumors that were floating around that Timbaland was not too pleased that he didn’t get a chance to produce a good majority of Jay’s latest effort, adds even more truth to the fire. It has also been mentioned that the beats that were supplied to Jay, were not Timbaland’s best beats in his stash. He allegedly plans on keeping his best beats for his album Shock Value 2.

For those of you who are expecting to get a Jay-Z that you have been experiencing for some time now, Bleek lets you know that Jay’s goal is to expand as an artist and to cover new ground by not limiting himself musically. While other artists are huddled in the studio trying their hardest to make another one of the hits they once had, Jay is striving to create brand new magic and hits that are different from his last.

"A couple of years back, I had asked Jay why he doesn't make another “Big Pimpin.” This was like four years ago when I asked him this and his answer to me was ‘Why would I do that?' “Big Pimpin” is already made. So then, I didn't understand what he meant by that and I'm like so what, I would just make six of those and ride it to the end of the wave. But he's right because if you make four more of those records, then the original won't be hot anymore. You have to move on to the next wave and I think that people want him to stay Reasonable Doubt, Volume 2, Blueprint Jay. He's not that guy anymore, he's outta here."

Bleek is readying his 5th studio album The Process which will be released November 24th. The Process will be Executive Produced by Jay-Z and will feature appearances from Rick Ross, Jay-Z, and Pharrell with production from Just Blaze and No I.D.

Update: Jadakiss Confirms Drug Bust Report

D-Block's Jadakiss has confirmed reports of a drug raid at his Yonkers, New York apartment, which was followed by two arrests, by police last week.

Kiss denied being at the home when the drug bust took place and has reportedly not visited the apartment for months.

"What happened on Saturday was an unfortunate situation, but one in which I have no involvement in," Kiss said in a statement sent to SOHH. "Since the release of my recent album Last Kiss, I have been on the road touring and promoting my project. I am focused on my performance schedule and career."

Brown's & Rihanna's Violent Past FINALLY Revealed!

I laugh at the fact that some people actually believe that the February incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown was the first time anything physical between the two, ever happened. All of that was some pinned up frustration, that unfortunately came out. Yesterday, when Brown was convicted in the Rihanna assualt incident, details about their violent past was FINALLY revealed.


Rihanna and Chris Brown had two previous violent episodes before the Feb. 8 fight, which ultimately led to Brown’s arrest and felony conviction, court documents reveal. The “Umbrella” singer allegedly slapped Brown…… in a heated argument three months prior to the February incident, according to Brown’s probation review released Tuesday.

In that previous fight, which occurred in Europe, Brown responded by pushing Rihanna into a wall, the documents say. The couple “were involved in a verbal dispute and [she] slapped [him].” Brown “responded by shoving her into a wall.” A second fight occurred about three weeks prior to the Feb. 8 incident. Brown and Rihanna “were visiting Barbados and were driving a Range Rover loaned to them,” according to the documents. “They had an argument inside the car. [Brown] exited and broke the front driver and passenger side windows of the car. No one was injured during the incident.”

The documents also reveal that in the Feb. 8 incident, which began after Brown allegedly received a text message from a previous lover, that Rihanna “said she became ‘enraged’ and slammed both of her fists against the dashboard,” which led to Brown pulling the Lamborghini over and trying to force her out, which escalated into a physical fight. Lawyers for both Rihanna, 21, and Brown, 20, weren’t immediately available for comment. In a June 26 interview with his probation officer, Brown stated that since the Feb. 8 fight, he had been very “depressed.” Brown stated he grew up watching his mother being physically abused and said he did not want to “carry on that cycle.”

Brown repeatedly told the officer he regretted the incident, and said he initially wanted to plead guilty right away, but his attorney advised against it. “I want to take responsibility for my mistake,” Brown told the officer, adding he is “totally remorseful for what I have done.”



Now, with all of this coming out, Im still PISSED that Rihanna didn't get any type of probation or anything.

Chris Brown Sentenced In Rihanna Case; Must Stay Away From Rihanna For 5 Years

Finally, the world can close the case and Chris Brown and move on with their life! Can he live?

A few minutes ago, a judge sentenced Chris Brown to five years' probation and six months' community labor for the beating of Rihanna and issued a stern admonition to the R&B singer.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown that he could be sent to state prison if he violated any terms of his sentence, including an order to stay away from Rihanna for the next five years.

Brown will serve his sentence in his home state — Virginia — and his community labor will be overseen by the chief of police in Richmond.

The judge said she wanted to ensure that Brown, 20, performs physical labor instead of community service, such as mentoring young people.

Rihanna did not attend Tuesday's sentencing.

At one point, Brown, who was accompanied by his mother, agreed to the terms of the sentence before Schnegg had finished going through them all.

The hearing had been planned for Thursday afternoon, but Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, asked to move up the singer's sentencing to Tuesday.

We may have ONE LESS rapper on the streets in a minute. MediaTakeOut.com learned that yesterday NY police executed a SEARCH WARRANT on rapper Jadakiss’ Yonkers NY, apartment. The search resulted in the seizure of 5 grams of heroin, 6.5 pounds of marijuana and $40,000.

Jadakis, whose real name is Jason Phillips, wasn’t in the apartment at the time police executed a search warrant. So far police say haven’t issued an arrest warrant. But if we know the NY police – that’s coming soon!!

If this is true, Jada can kiss his freedom Goodbye! Ahaaaaa (in honor of Jada)...

This is crazy, or maybe just not a good 24 hours for New York rappers. Just earlier today, Juelz Santana was arrested after a woman called 911 saying that Santana threatened to kill her. He is home now!

Mario Performs At 92Q's Stone Soul Picnic; K-Swift Tribute 09

Saturday Radio One had their 18th annual Stone Soul Picnic at Druid Hill Park. Performances from Mario, Melanie Fiona, Shadina, Chico DeBarge, Jeff Major's, and more! The BIGGEST performances hands down, had to be Mario's. If you missed it, check it out right here!




Mario performed all of his hits which kept the crowd screaming for me. Not sure if you caught it, ladies were throwing panties and bra's onstage. Even at one point, a young lady jumped up on stage and latched herself to him. By the end of this week, I'll have more performance clips up from Saturday's event!

Usher's Soon To Be Ex-Wife Is Stalking His Grandma?

Okay, well maybe not his grandma, but she damn sure old enough to be!

SandraRose.com reports:

Over the weekend I heard from a well-connected industry insider who confided in me that Usher, 30, and Def Jam executive Grace Miguel, 42, are still an item. My source said Usher is “very much in love” with Grace, and he flies to NYC frequently to be with her.

According to my source, Usher’s estranged wife, Tameka Foster ex-Glover ex-Raymond, 40, is very unhappy that another older woman is now rocking Usher’s world.

I guess Tameka forgot that Usher is still working through serious Oedipus Complex issues from his childhood. And until those issues are resolved, he will forever seek out older women as sexual surrogates for his mother. Men like Usher, with unresolved childhood issues, do not make suitable husbands or boyfriends.

My source says Tameka has made Grace’s life a living hail. Somehow, Tameka got ahold of Grace’s personal cell and home numbers and has been harassing the poor marketing exec to the point where she has had to change her numbers at least twice.

There is also a standing order at Def Jam for security to keep an eye out for Tameka, who has been warned to stay away from Def Jam property. Security has been ordered to call the police if Tameka is seen anywhere near Def Jam’s New York offices. Word is that Tameka called L.A. Reid repeatedly demanding to know why Grace has not been fired for wrecking her marriage.

My source also cleared up the rumors of a reality show in the works for Tameka. He said Tameka has spoken with execs at BET who politely passed on her show. VH1 execs also declined, and MTV refused to even see Tameka! “I don’t know who she met with down there in Atlanta,” said my source. “But she’s already been turned down by all the networks.”

My source said that when Tameka floated the idea of a possible reality show to Usher, he flatly refused to appear in the show. Usher also refused to allow his children to appear in the show. The networks have no interest in Tameka or her show because they fear retaliation by Usher, who has an album about to drop. They don’t want to jeopardize their good relationships with the R&B crooner.

Without Usher or the children’s participation, Tameka’s hopes for a reality show are dead in the water.

Baltimore Ravens Rookie, Tony Fein, Arrested!

Baltimore Ravens undrafted rookie linebacker Tony Fein was arrested and charged Sunday with assaulting a police officer at a restaurant, authorities said.


Fein was eating dinner at Johnny Rockets in the Inner Harbor when a security officer thought he saw him pass a handgun to one of his friends, said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. It turned out to be a cell phone.

When police questioned Fein, 27, he became belligerent and shoved the officer, Guglielmi said. Sgt. Joseph Donato was knocked to the ground and had an injured elbow, a police report said.

"Like all citizens, Tony will get his due process and have his opportunity to explain," Ravens senior vice president of public and community relations Kevin Byrne said in a statement. "There are two sides to every story."

Fein was being booked for the misdemeanor charge late Sunday. His agent, Milton Hobbs, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The New York Daily News quotes a source who claims the couple split up because she's ready to get married and he isn't.

Nelly is said to be living it up as a single man, having been spotted recently in Las Vegas and Miami with video vixen Jessica Rabbit.

So far, neither Nelly nor Ashanti have made public comments regarding the alleged split.

Two months after being signed to Young Money Entertainment, Omarion has been dropped from the giant recording company. Spilling the beans about the matter is the label's president Mack Maine on his Twitter which reveals that Omarion is fired because he has allegedly leaked his duet song with Lil Wayne.

Omarion was previously signed to Epic Records before he joined Young Money Entertainment in June. He is currently working on his next studio album titled "A New Me". Now that he is out of Young Money, it seems that the singer has to seek a new home to release the effort. (ThatGrapeJuice)

In its release, the publicity firm Sunshine, Sachs & Associates said that Michael Jackson would be buried on August 29 at 10 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, at Holly Terrace in the Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. The release said the burial ceremony would be private and limited to the Jackson family and close friends, but that there would be nearby accommodations for the news media. (New York Times)

But why did they let this cat out the bag? I thought they didn't want to release this info so that folks wouldn't come to the site. I'm not so sold on this is where he will be. Weezy Confirms New Baby; Tour Cancelled Due To Border Trouble?

Lil Wayne is welcoming another little Carter into the world. The rapper finally revealed during a radio interview on Tuesday (August 18) what had been widely speculated: Lauren London is expecting his baby. (MTV)

The "ATL" actress is several months pregnant and surprised attendees of Diddy's white party over the Fourth of July when she arrived with a bulging belly.

"Lauren London, she fine," Los Angeles Power 106 jock Fuzzy said to Wayne. "She very pregnant with your baby."

To which Wayne responded, "Very pregnant, yes."

Fuzzy then offered a congratulations to the Cash Money star, and he gladly accepted.

In more Wayne news, Lil' Wayne fans in Edmonton, Alberta were disappointed last night, as were those in Vancouver the night before when both dates on the America's Most Wanted tour were abruptly canceled.

Its been many reasons why folks are saying the tour is cancelled.

Reason #1: A Live Nation Twitter post indicated that last night's show had been called off "due to unforeseen circumstances."

Reason #2: "Lil Wayne, due to illness, was advised by his doctors to cancel the Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted Music Festival tour stops in Western Canada," said a statement by tour organizers.

Reason #3: Nicki Minaj wrote on her Twitter account about arriving in Canada around 3 p.m. Soon after, she wrote about one of the tour buses undergoing a search. "They got the other bus under pressure right now . . . n--z brought the dogs out and s--t . . . smh (shaking my head)," she wrote.

I'm going with Reason #3! I'm just suprised that his boy Drake didn't make a call. He supposed to have Canda on lock!

R. Kelly's Number One; Upcoming Tour

The other day, I gave you a 'Behind The Scenes' look at the making of 'Number One'...now, I have the actual video!



'Number One' is the first single of R. Kelly's Untitled album which is dropping October 13th. When the album drops, R. Kelly will have kicked off his tour in support of his forthcoming disc. The jaunt will begin October 8th in Mashantucket, Connecticut and will make stops in cities including Boston, Baltimore, New York, Atlanta, Dallas and Houston before wrapping up December 8th in St. Louis. Tickets go on sale August 22nd. Full tour information is expected soon.

Mary J Blige To Be Guest Judge On 'American Idol'

Mary J. Blige is set to appear as a guest judge on reality television hit "American Idol," joining judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi as they evaluate "Idol" hopefuls at auditions in Atlanta.

Blige, who will release her ninth studio album, "Stronger," in November, is the second guest judge joining the show so far this season. Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham taped a guest appearance earlier this summer. (RTTNews)

Bow Wow's A 'Cash Money Millionaire'!

For the past couple of weeks, if you have been following Bow Wow (@bowwow614) on Twiiter, he's been asking for suggestions as to what he should do with signing to a new label vs. starting his own. Then on Sunday, Bow started promote that he had a BIG announcement about his new deal.

Well before Shad had a chance to make the announcement, I had already found out. Bow Wow had signed a new deal with Cash Money!

On His Twitter page, he posted :"its official BOW WOW IS A CASH MONEY MILLIONAIRE"

"It's the triple threat Bow, Wayne, Drake. Its about to be real stupid," Bow explained, via a UStream session. "Any Bow Wow fan that I let down ... what I am getting ready to do, I got y'all. I apologize to the fans that I let down. It’s finna to go down. Its on now, baby. Me, Drake and Weezy … let's get to the money."

The terms of the deal were unknown at press time. It's also unknown what the first project Bow Wow will release via the new deal will be. But, it's rumored his next album would be titled The Transition To Shad Moss.


So Bow thinks that him, Weezy, and Drake is a "Triple Threat?" Not So Much! He would have did better by going under So So Def. How many artist that were signed to Cash Money has come out? He is just another one on their books.

Drake Has A Change Of Heart?

Drake has apologized to Motown Records executive Sylvia Rhone after some unkind remarks he made in an interview with Fader. Still bitter after being passed over by the label, Drake said, "I went through Universal Republic because I don't [mess] with Motown, at all."

Drake also vents his frustrations on the track "Say What's Real," off his So Far Gone mixtape, rapping, "I've always been something that these labels can't buy / Especially if they trying to take a piece of my soul / And Sylvia be telling 'Tez, 'Damn, Drake fly' / And he just be like, 'Silly [expletive], I know.'"

But now Drake tells MTV, "For furthering the negativity, I can definitely say I apologize. I don't know [Rhone] personally to discredit her character. It's not the right thing to do."

In the Wall Street Journal today, investors are helping breathe life back into the staple of the entertainment market. Though details are sketchy, AdAge reports that former Vibe Group publisher Leonard Burnett Jr. seems to be in the mix.

The new owners have confirmed that Vibe.com will return in the next few weeks; Tuesday night, the site displayed a purple-and-gold banner declaring, "Vibe Under New Management: Updates Coming Soon." Plans are to bring a print Vibe back around the end of the year, and then produce it quarterly in 2010.

Lisa Wu Hartwell of R.H.O.A. Loses Her House

They need to change the name of the show Real Housewives of Atlanta to Real Housewives of the Recession! I mean, they get on Bravo and pretend that their life is so glamorous, when they need to realize it is a recession!



Lisa Wu Hartwell is now an official Real Housewife of Atlanta, her house has been foreclosed. She and formber football player (not by choice), Edgerton Hartwell have been asked to remove their belongings out of their ATL mansion.


A rep says Lisa and Ed were in talks with the lender to restructure the loan since the home had lost value, but their attempt failed.


The bank has since sold the home for $1.9 million, the couple paid $2.9 million for it in 2007.


Lisa and Ed are the third castmembers of R.H.O.A. to have to re-locate due to the economy.

This recession is NOT a joke! WE all need to really think twice about the purchases we make! I wonder if Lisa will call Keith Sweat, now? Just a thought!

Sara Stokes (of Diddy's 'Da Band') Makes The Cut

From 'Making The Band' to now, 'Making the Bail for Sara'!

A former member of Diddy's reality show, MAKING THE BAND has been arrested over allegations she stabbed her husband during a heated argument.

Sara Stokes, who battled to land a place in Da Band in the second series of the MTV show, was taken into custody on 2 August (09) in connection with a domestic violence incident.

According to TMZ.com, Stokes fled her family home in Moreno Valley, California before tripping and banging her head. After the stumble, she allegedly grabbed a knife and slashed her husband Tony's arm while the pair's three kids looked on.

California's District Attorney's office is currently deciding whether to bring charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence against her.

However, a lawyer for Stokes denies the singer injured her husband with intent, telling the website, "Sara and Tony have a very passionate and loving relationship that on August 2, while having an evening of fun, she slipped and fell, hitting her head heavily on the ground and somehow in the process of helping her Tony got injured."

Really simple-Bad Boy this, Bad Boy that! It's Da Band!! B-A-N-D!!! Maybe Sara should give KeKe Wyatt a call, and see how she got off? Just A Thought...

Reggie Miller Gets Restraining Order Put Against Him After Being Put On Blast

A banner warning Reggie Miller off of married women was flown over southern California beaches. Seems Miller's been accused of trying to dip his Dunkaroos in someone else's frosting cup, and we've got the restraining order to prove it.

Maybe Miller's learning some things from TNT coworker Charles Barkley about landing a side piece, but targeting someone who's engaged is never wise. Especially if said woman's fiancé is pseudo-famous and rich enough to take their revenge in a very public fashion.

Alex von Furstenberg is a Malibu surf shop owner, but more importantly the son of fashion legend Diane von Furstenberg and stepson of media mogul Barry Diller. He's also engaged to designer Ali Kay.

According to the restraining order, which was never filed, Miller is neighbors with von Furstenberg and Kay, and met her at a Fourth of July party last year. In early March, he ran into her at a grocery store, then waited outside for an hour until she left, before following her up the Pacific Coast Highway.

He also allegedly harassed her by phone, including sending her 53 text messages over the course of less than four hours.

When confronted by von Furstenberg, according to the complaint, Miller turned threatening:

"He said he had friends with guns. He implied I would get hurt if I didn't stop questioning him on his inappropriate pursuit of my fiancee and his attempts to subvert his efforts."

Rap's next big thing, Toronto rapper Drake revealed his reasons for signing a distribution deal with Universal Republic in this month's Fader magazine.

The former 'Degrassi: The Next Generation' star was courted by virtually every major label, and was rumored to have signed an unbelievably generous deal with Universal/Motown, but he set the record straight in the Fader, saying "I went through Universal Republic because I don't f--- with Motown at all."

Drake made his issues with Motown president and executive vice-president of Universal Records, Sylvia Rhone, public long before he signed his deal, saying "I've always been something that these labels can't buy/especially if they trying to take a piece of my soul/and Sylvia be telling Tez/Damn, Drake fly/and he just be like, 'silly motherf---er I know'" on "Say What's Real," from his mixtape 'So Far Gone.'

According to the Fader story, (Drake Drizzy's face also graces the cover, as previously reported), Rhone threatened Drake with legal action if he chose to sign elsewhere. Drake chose to avoid further dealings with Rhone, but will still include the Lil Wayne's Young Money logo (Young Money is on Universal Records) on his album.

"I respect the fact that Wayne put me in this position," Drake said. "But as an artist I have to do my own thing at this point. I'm not sure if that's gonna be a struggle in the next couple of months, to set myself apart. I don't want it to feel like a disrespectful thing, but I know it's a bridge that I'm going to cross as far as becoming my own person."

Not saying if and fact that Rhone did threaten Drake, but being disrespectful is NEVER cool!

Joe Buddens Gets Rushed By Raekwon's Crew

I can honestly say, I saw this coming. My name aint Miss Jenkins or anything but I knew it was going to happen, but just not when. A few weeks ago when the 'Rock The Bells' tour stopped in Baltimore, Joe Buddens and Raekwon was scheduled to be on the 92Q's Rap Attack. Neither parties knew that each other would be there. I will say when Joe found out that Rae was coming, people say he was "Mobb Deep (shook ones). To prevent anything from jumping off at the radio station, the parties were immediately put in seperate ends of the radio station. When the tour stopped in Cali-all that frustration came out.

The California tour stop for Rock The Bells went down without a hitch on Saturday (August 8), but one person had a bad night ... his name was Joe Budden.

Earlier in the evening, the rapper was confronted by Wu-Tang member Raekwon and his entourage backstage at the event. According to witnesses backstage, words were exchanged and the two rappers went their separate ways.

Budden later headed to his dressing room, where he began to stream live from backstage at the concert, via BlogTV.com. It is unknown if he had addressed the previous run-in via the live feed though.

While streaming, Raekwon and his entourage stormed into Joe's dressing room for all to see. However, the feed cuts off after a few minutes.
