Chris Brown Says He' Sorry!

Chris Brown, who was arrested a week ago in connection with the alleged beating of his girlfriend, Rihanna, released a statement Sunday expressing remorse over his actions, according to reports.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person," the singer said in a statement issued through publicist Michael Sitrick.

"Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and-or reported in the media is wrong," Brown added. But he said he couldn't discuss that in detail until his case is resolved.
Brown surrendered to Los Angeles police on Feb. 8 and was released on $50,000 bail after being booked for investigation of making a criminal threat, a felony. He has not been charged by the district attorney's office, which is still investigating the case.

RadarOnline reported over the weekend that Brown held a "secret meeting" in Los Angeles Thursday night with his family and close friends to discuss the controversy surrounding his recent arrest.

A source exclusively tells the Web site that Brown's mother was among the people in attendance, and that he attempted to calm everyone down. The source says Brown told his family and friends that he and Rihanna have "officially broken up."

RadarOnline.com was also told exclusively that Brown does not think she will press charges against him. He also reportedly believes that he will pay fines instead of spending time in jail.
The source says Brown's final words to everyone were: "Protect me. I'm your homeboy." Click here for the story.

Meanwhile, a source close to Brown tells Usmagazine.com that the singer has not been updating his Facebook status with messages about Rihanna.

The New York Post reported last week that Brown changed his status to say "You'll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!" But the source tells Us: "Due to the dubious nature of the Facebook page, I don't know how anybody would believe this. Of course Chris did not comment himself and this is not his Facebook page.

"A little research shows that there are tons of Chris imposters on Facebook and none of them are Chris, including this one," continues the source.
