NEW MUSIC: ROCKO 'SELF MADE' REVIEW
Review By: Billboard
Last year, Atlanta's Rodney "Rocko" Hill told Billboard that money was his main incentive when he made the transition from artist development executive/producer to rapper.
Today, riches are a recurrent theme on his debut album, which features head-bopping, neck-jerking production from Drumma Boi (Young Jeezy, Yung Joc) throughout. On the guitar-based "This Morning," Rocko daydreams about Ben Franklins, while on the appropriately titled "Hustlin'," he unabashedly admits his fear of going "back to being broke." The obsession is a bit much on tracks like the drum-heavy "Busy," where he claims to be so occupied making money that he can't even talk or walk. But Rocko comes off less avaricious on a dedication to his mother, "Thugs Need Love Too," with an assist from R&B singer/girlfriend Monica, and on the repentant "Karma," where he most effectively demonstrates his storytelling skills.

NEW MUSIC: FLO-RIDA 'MAIL ON SUNDAY" REVIEW
Flo Rida is, unsurprisingly, from the state denoted by closing the space between the rapper's two-part stage name. Or, you could just refer to the enormous postcard pictorial he has inked across his hulking back.
But don't let his bulked-up, tatted and often-shirtless appearance or innuendo-laced lyrics fool you into thinking he's a straight thug or strictly into dropping booty beats. The guy is essentially a big teddy bear - albeit an obscenely ripped teddy bear of Dr. Dre-like proportions. And he just wants to make a little something for everyone.
"On this album I talk about the happiest of times to the sad times, to the lovable times. You know those times when you just loving your girl, and you know, past relationships, and it's basically just an everyday life album," he told illroots.com of his mainstream debut. "I try to put something on there where it's like the best party you ever had or the worst time you ever had, so you might want to grab a tissue."
But aside from his one-name wordplay, Flo Rida, born Tramar Dillard, doesn't need gimmicks - he's already got clubs, cars and cellphones bumping with his infectious hip-hop tracks - "Low," featuring T-Pain, was one of the most-downloaded iTunes tracks of 2007, and shot to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with the Timbaland-backed "Elevator" rising quickly behind. And now he's following up his radio-ready singles with en entire album of them.
Mail on Sunday, Flo Rida's debut LP, is a chromed-out collection of hands-in-the-air hip-hop heavy-hitters, backed by Rick Ross, Birdman, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, and Sean Kingston. To name just a few.

NEW MUSIC: DANITY KANE 'WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE' REVIEW
Review By: Sam (That Grape Juice)
Within the two years that followed the release of Danity Kane's self-titled debut, the group - consistent of Dawn, Audrea, Aubrey, Shannon and D. Woods - amassed a legion of loyal fans and experienced Platinum sales. Yet speculation about rifts between the ladies and management, as well as among themselves, threatened to dissolve the group just as quickly as they were formed. Having ironed out their issues, Danity Kane are back with their sophomore effort 'Welcome To The Dollhouse'. An eclectic Pop/Urban/Dance fusion, with 'Dollhouse' the ladies prove their worth and then some.
The rousing Missy Elliot-assisted 'Bad Girl' lifts the album off to a great start. With its up-tempo, whimsical production - courtesy of Danja - and clever play on the album's title concept ('When the red light comes on I transform'), the track sets the tone for the rest of the record. Elsewhere, the metaphorically steamy 'Striptease', as well the club-destined 'Pretty Boy' (both also produced by Danja) are standouts. The great reception of the album's lead single 'Damaged' also speaks for itself.
Markedly more Pop sounding than their 2006 debut, 'Dollhouse' possess a distinct appeal to a broader audience. The synthpop sounding 'Sucka For Love' - a personal favourite - as well as 'Lights Out' are good examples of this; as are edgy standouts 'Poetry' and 'Is Anybody Listening?'
Despite its many highpoints, 'Dollhouse' isn't without a few shortcomings. The gritty 'Ecstasy', which is somewhat reminiscent to the group's first single 'Show Stopper', could have done without the Rick Ross feature - totally unneeded. 'Street credibility' may have been a reason, yet the end result makes it tempting to hit the skip button. What's more, the Bryan Michael Cox produced '2 of You' suffers from the text-book case of 'awesome production, terrible lyrics' - 'You got me having breakfast in the afternoon' Ok then. 'Ain't Going Nowhere' - a collaboration with fellow 'Making The Band' co-stars Day26 and Donnie- seems out of place on the otherwise very well flowing record.
With 'Welcome To the Dollhouse', Danity Kane, not only deliver a solid collection of sassy, assertive radio-ready hits, the ladies serve up their most cohesive effort yet - highlighting both their artistic growth and uniformity as a group. Indeed, one of the better releases so far this year, 'Dollhouse' sets the group head and shoulders above their competition. The successors to the girl-group thrown vacated by a certain Destiny's Child, perhaps? A long shot, maybe, but Danity Kane are undoubtedly headed in the right direction.

KANYE WEST AND FIANCE TIE THE KNOT???
According to MTV UK, rapper Kanye West and fiance Alexis Phifer may have exchanged vows during a recent trip to Europe:Rumours suggest that rapper/producer Kanye has fulfilled his mother’s final wishes by marrying his longterm girlfriend Alexis Phifer at a secret ceremony in Europe. The rap star proposed to Phifer in 2006 while they were on a romantic holiday in Italy and new reports say that the two have now tied the knot while on vacation in Europe just last month. The rumours could well be true as the Through The Wire singer was keen to get married away from the spotlight of the media as he said in GQ magazine last year, “I’m just going to go and get married, I’m not going to make a big deal out of it.”
MOVE OVER JANET...LET MIMI SHINE!!!!

Due to being struck down with the Flu, Janet Jackson has been forced to cancel her scheduled performance on Saturday Night Live this week (March 15th). In her place will be Def Jam label-mate Mariah Carey, who will give the first televised live performance of 'Touch My Body', as well as 'Migrate' from her forthcoming 'E=MC²' album.
Though word has it Janet will now be hosting the show and performing in May, I can't help but be left with a bit of salty taste in my mouth. Not so much because Mariah is performing so early (after all 'Touch My Body is #16 on the Hot 100 this week), but - put simply - Janet needs all the exposure she can get.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN T.I. ASSOCIATE MURDER CASE
Philant Johnson, T.I.’s best friend and personal assistant, was killed on May 2, 2006 during a rolling shootout on a Cincinnati highway following an altercation at a Cincinnati nightclub.
T.I., Philant and members of T.I.’s entourage were ambushed as they left the club where T.I. made an appearance at a concert afterparty.
According to Ryan, reliable sources close to the case speaking to the Ryan Report on condition of anonymity, said 2 suspects are in custody and a warrant will be served on the alleged triggerman sometime this week.
Sources told the Ryan Report that detectives made an arrest in an unrelated case and new information regarding the old murder case was obtained as a result of that arrest. The motive for the ambush may not have been over money thrown into the crowd during a performance by Yung Joc who was on tour with T.I. at the time.
Sources tell the Ryan Report that a promoter mistakenly believed he had booked T.I. for an afterparty at his club only to find out he had been duped by a person who said they could secure an appearance from T.I.
When the promoter learned that T.I. was at another party he went to the scene with other individuals and waited for T.I. to leave the club. After a brief war of words in the parking lot, the promoter and his crew allegedly followed T.I.’s caravan of vehicles onto the highway where the assailants opened fire on the vehicles carrying T.I. and members of his entourage. Police say T.I.’s security who were licensed to carry weapons, returned fire.
Philant was killed and three other members of T.I.’s entourage were wounded in the shootout. Police say a 25 caliber pistol and a 9mm handgun were used in the shootings. One of the assailants was apparently hit in the exchange of gunfire, but managed to escape detection by crossing state lines to be treated for his gunshot wound.

JUELZ CAUGHT RIDIN' DIRTY
Juelz Santana appeared in New Jersey Municipal Court this morning (March 12) to face charges of driving with a suspended license and being in the possession of marijuana and hollow point bullets.
According to The New York Daily News, Juelz was pulled over in his Bentley by police last week as he was approaching his home in Teaneck, NJ.
Authorities would smell marijuana coming from the rapper's vehicle and saw a green leafy substance on the car's center console as well as marijuana roaches and Dutch Master and White Owl cigars.
A hand rolled cigar laced with marijuana would be found in Juelz shoe.
In the car's trunk, cops would find 29 hollow-point bullets wrapped in a sock and $19,500 rolled in small bundles in a plastic bag also filled with Jolly Rancher candies.
A plastic bag with marijuana would also be found in the backseat of the car where Juelz was seated after he was arrested.

USHER, STEPPING OUT????
Does Tameka Foster Raymond have any reason to be worried about these pics of BX from Flavor of Love 3 and her husband Usher? I would say she does. They’re looking a bit too cozy in these pics. Most men prefer women of the same body type and features.
Ush, may not did anything this time. But best believe, that number is in his Fav 5!
NOT THE CHURCHES MONEY!!!!!!
Houston gospel singer and radio host Yolanda Adams is under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service. The agency has asked a federal judge to force the entertainer to turn over documents after she failed to show up for an appointment last month to explain her financial affairs. The agency is trying to determine her tax liability and how to collect on the debt. According to filings in Houston federal court, the IRS probe stems from two million-dollar mortgage loan applications. A 2005 Ocwen application said Adams earned $40,000 a month and listed $8 million in assets — including an $800,000 trust account, $4.9 million in other personal holdings and jewelry worth $1.5 million. That document said she owned a Lexus and a Hummer. A subsequent Chase home loan application listed $3 million in assets, including a business worth $1.5 million, a Mercedes-Benz and a Range Rover. She owns a home worth more than $2 million in Houston’s Royal Oaks Country Club subdivision.
