Update: Katt Williams Still In Custody; Lawyer Says Burlary Fabricated

Here is an update on the status of comedian Katt Williams!

Yesterday, CNN had reported that Comedian Katt Williams was arrested on burglary and criminal trespass charges in a west Georgia community Sunday night, according to a court official. He was supposed to see a magistrate at 4pm on yesterday to determine if he was eligible for bond.

At this time, Williams is still sitting in the Coweta County, Georgia jail on charges of burglary.

His lawyer, William Briggs, says the charges were fabricated! Attorney Briggs says Katt was filming a movie and had been staying at producer Barry Hankerson’s house for three weeks. Briggs says one of Hankerson’s employees, Daniel Broach, invented the burglary claim and called the cops after a dispute with Katt turned ugly.

Katt Williams is accused of stealing $3,555 in jewelry and collectable coins. He remains in jail on $41,000 bail.

Urban Quickies: Method Man Turns Himself In For Tax Evasion; Nas Takes On Media

Well, looks like we may have to put some dinero on Clifford's books....and I'm not talking about Clifford Harris (T.I.)!

Clifford Smith, better known as rapper “Method Man,” was arrested on tax evasion charges. Meth surrendered himself to the NYPD Detective Squad of the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office around 8am this morning, District Attorney Danield Donovan, Jr. and New York State Department of Taxation and Finance Acting Commissioner Jamie Woodward announced.

Reportedly, Method Man is alleged to have failed to pay $32,799.00 in personal income taxes dating back to 2004.


Nas recently addressed the media's suggestion that his violent songs encourage teenage violence and said he has no plans to change his lyrical content.



I'm just mad that they were asking him about his damn song lyrics! He was NOT there to talk about that. He was there to talk about his 'open letter' about the Derrion Albert situation!

Out of all the stuff I heard about rappers in the business, I PRAY that this ain't true about Kiss. I mean, really! Kiss is my dude!

We may have ONE LESS rapper on the streets in a minute. MediaTakeOut.com learned that yesterday NY police executed a SEARCH WARRANT on rapper Jadakiss’ Yonkers NY, apartment. The search resulted in the seizure of 5 grams of heroin, 6.5 pounds of marijuana and $40,000.

Jadakis, whose real name is Jason Phillips, wasn’t in the apartment at the time police executed a search warrant. So far police say haven’t issued an arrest warrant. But if we know the NY police – that’s coming soon!!

If this is true, Jada can kiss his freedom Goodbye! Ahaaaaa (in honor of Jada)...

This is crazy, or maybe just not a good 24 hours for New York rappers. Just earlier today, Juelz Santana was arrested after a woman called 911 saying that Santana threatened to kill her. He is home now!

UPDATE: Kanye West Out On Bail

Kanye West has just been arrested at LAX for felony vandalism.

A still photographer was trying to take pics of Kanye at the American Airlines terminal.

According to TMZ their camerage guy was on the scene, Kanye allegedly confronted the photog and smashed his camera to the ground.

TMZ's photog then began videotaping the scene when Kanye's assistant grabbed our camera -- a struggle ensued and the assistant threw the video camera to the ground, breaking it.

When Kanye realized their camera guy had videotaped the incident, he rushed our guy and yelled, "Gimme that f**king tape!"


Both Kanye and his assistant have been arrested and will be booked. The tape will be posting video shortly

Sean Paul Gets Locked For "Burning Yall"

Sean Paul was recently taken in to police custody in Sweden after he was suspected of carrying drugs at a popular festival.

According to TMZ, the Grammy-winning entertainer attended last weekend’s Uppsala Reggae Festival in Sweden where he and around 200 to 300 other attendees were forced to the local police station on drug-related charges.

While details are still scarce, reports claim that there were at least ten other well-known performers brought in for questioning before being freed to leave the station.

As of now, authorities estimate that it will take close to an entire month for results to come in to verify if the alleged drugs were in deed narcotics.

Both Paul and his management were unavailable for comment at press time.

Known as one of the largest reggae concerts in Europe, this year’s performance featured popular artists including Beenie Man, Junior Reid, Massive B and many others.

Mr. Anti-Dark Butts Arrested

Yung Berg was busted early yesterday morning in New York City after police investigated a complaint by a limo driver. Sources say a limo driver reported a dispute with five passengers, and when police investigated the complaint, they busted Berg and his buddies on a pile of charges. Cops say Berg, real name Christian Ward, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana and menacing.

JUELZ CAUGHT RIDIN' DIRTY

Juelz Santana appeared in New Jersey Municipal Court this morning (March 12) to face charges of driving with a suspended license and being in the possession of marijuana and hollow point bullets.

According to The New York Daily News, Juelz was pulled over in his Bentley by police last week as he was approaching his home in Teaneck, NJ.

Authorities would smell marijuana coming from the rapper's vehicle and saw a green leafy substance on the car's center console as well as marijuana roaches and Dutch Master and White Owl cigars.

A hand rolled cigar laced with marijuana would be found in Juelz shoe.
In the car's trunk, cops would find 29 hollow-point bullets wrapped in a sock and $19,500 rolled in small bundles in a plastic bag also filled with Jolly Rancher candies.

A plastic bag with marijuana would also be found in the backseat of the car where Juelz was seated after he was arrested.
