D.C. Settles Out of Court; Beyonce & Kelly Beefing???

We almost got a reunion we've been wanting-the return of Destiny's Child, but this time it would have been in a court room!


According to the Chicago-Sun Times, the group just settled a case with Rickey Allen. The Chicago performer filed suit against the girls group back in 2004, charging that they stole his song, “Cater 2 U.” Specifically at issue was the title of the song and its spelling, which was copyrighted.

Beyonce was expected to testify but did not because the settlement was reached. Allen's attorney tells ABC7 that the lawsuit has been dismissed.

For those who may not be familiar with the "fine" print, Papa Knowles settled out of court.

With that being said, that seems to be the reason of Beyonce and Kelly Rowland's alleged beef.

Apparently, Kelly is furious with PaPa Knowles and blames him for the copyright lawsuit. According to People, Kelly claims that PaPa Knowles has a long history of forcing songwriters to add Beyonce’s name to songs that she didn’t even write, just so she could get publishing royalties. According to a snitch, the BFF’s have been cordial since Kelly dropped PaPa Knowles as her manager, but now there’s tension in the air.

“She and Beyoncé remained cordial at first. But things have gotten tense since Kelly griped that Matthew is the cause of this lawsuit.” (STR8NYC)

Black Wall Street leader The Game recently updated fans on the process of his forthcoming The R.E.D. Album and challenged rappers to a weekly mixtape stand-off this summer. Now that Kelly Rowland has a new manager -- Jeff Rabhan, who also manages Kelis and Michele Branch -- she's sharing more about her split with former manager Matthew Knowles. Rowland tells celebrity columnist Chris Yandek, "I just felt like I wasn't growing anymore. It took a long time to actually come up with the final decision because it was something that you think about before when you feel like you're almost hitting a ceiling. I wanted a change. Some girl groups have girls trying to steal other girls’ boyfriends and that’s the ultimate no-no. You have situations like the Kelly thing and Beyonce’s parents. You can say that I’m out for everybody, but if Lisa was to bring somebody in that’s her boyfriend, then I’m gonna feel like you got Lisa’s back more than mine, and that’s gonna be a no-no. I just think that brings a conflict of interest in the beginning. That would have been a hard group for me to be in, because I would have been like your mommy and daddy are running things and they’re gonna have you at heart the most. That’s just how I feel”.
