Dixon 'Regrets' Putting City Through Trial

Today at 3pm, Baltimore's Mayor, Sheila Dixon held a press conference since being found guilty by a jury on Tuesday of one count of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary -- a misdemeanor embezzlement charge -- for using gift cards for herself that were meant to go to needy city children.(WBAL TV)

“I am reflecting on the trial’s outcome, talking with advisors, and reviewing my options. I understand that the trial has engendered a range of strong feelings among citizens who, like me, love Baltimore City. I deeply regret that the citizens of Baltimore have had to go through this ordeal with me.

While I recognize that the issues before me go beyond the courtroom, my attorneys have advised me to limit my comments while the legal process continues.

In the meantime, my administration and I will continue to do the people’s business without interruption, and we will continue to act in the best interests of the City.”

You know the Blueprint 3 tour is here tonite and Bmore, and it's been rumored that Pharrell was gonna be on the show, and possibly even Alicia Keys! Well A. Keys has not been spotted yet, but Pharrell has!


He was hanging out in the lobby of the _________________ hotel in Baltimore getting in the Halloween spirit. Yup, he was carving pumpkins!

BET 106 & Park Tour Stops In Bmore!

Last night, BET's 106 & Park tour stopped in Baltimore at Sonar. It was supposed to be performances from Day26, Trey Songz, and Mario! Just hours before the show was supposed to go on, I got the call that would upset the fans---the call that Mario would NOT be performing for his hometown. Mario had got sick, and lost his voice!
Either way, the show had to go on! Shouts out to Bmore's own Carmen who was a winner from 'Wild Out Wednesday' and they opened up the show. Sean Garrett performed as well. Now mind you, I missed all of this because I locked my keys in my truck! #EpicFail!

By the time I got into the venue and made my way to the stage, Day26 were performing! Shouts out to The Urban Informer photographer, Joe Maye, for taking the pictures!

Hands down, Trey Songz KILLT his performance! Did all of his song (Black Roses, Say Aagh, LOL, Your Side of The Bed, I Need A Girl, and more)!

Now on the Mario absence, even though he lost his voice, I believe he still should have showed up and allowed his face to be seen. Hell, Que was sick and he still performed. Mario is the homey still, but just saying he had alot of folks upset. Get Well! No Shade!

Suprisingly, only 1 minor thing popped off backstage. It involed Willie of Day26! Willie was minding his own business backstage, and security tried to crack slick. It wasn't Willie's fault. You know how its ALWAYS 1 security guard that tries to OVER do it. Willie stood his ground against the other security guards, and then Day26 Bodyguards stepped in.

R.I.P. To Baltimore Raven Tony Fein

Tony Fein, an Iraq war veteran who played for the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason and was arrested in a high-profile incident at the Inner Harbor, was found dead Tuesday morning in his home state of Washington, officials said.

The 27-year-old linebacker was discovered face down and unconscious in the living room of a friend's townhome in Port Orchard about 8:50 a.m., according to Mike Wernet, a battalion chief and medical officer for the South Kitsap Fire and Rescue.

Fein had vomited and was pronounced dead an hour later at a local hospital, Wernet said.

The county coroner, Allen G. Gerdes, said the cause of death was unclear pending an autopsy and toxicology tests, but he said that there was no indication of criminal activity. The local sheriff's office said that it opened a routine death investigation on Tuesday afternoon after learning of the death through news reports.

Ravens star Ray Lewis, who helped mentor Fein during training camp, said Fein was a "humble young man." "He was always searching for some type of direction. It's really sad," Lewis said. "Our heart definitely goes out to his family. It's heartfelt when you wake up and get news like that with someone you just went to war with."

Fein's death came one day before he was due to appear in Baltimore District Court to face charges that he assaulted a city police officer investigating a report that a gun later determined to be a cell phone had been passed between a group of Ravens players having a meal at the Inner Harbor.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who spoke to the team Wednesday morning about Fein's death, said he was proud that Fein was part of the Ravens.

"It's just a shock and we're saddened, " Harbaugh said. "He's a tremendous young man. He's a Raven to us and always will be."

Baltimore Ravens Rookie, Tony Fein, Arrested!

Baltimore Ravens undrafted rookie linebacker Tony Fein was arrested and charged Sunday with assaulting a police officer at a restaurant, authorities said.


Fein was eating dinner at Johnny Rockets in the Inner Harbor when a security officer thought he saw him pass a handgun to one of his friends, said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. It turned out to be a cell phone.

When police questioned Fein, 27, he became belligerent and shoved the officer, Guglielmi said. Sgt. Joseph Donato was knocked to the ground and had an injured elbow, a police report said.

"Like all citizens, Tony will get his due process and have his opportunity to explain," Ravens senior vice president of public and community relations Kevin Byrne said in a statement. "There are two sides to every story."

Fein was being booked for the misdemeanor charge late Sunday. His agent, Milton Hobbs, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Bmore's Mayor, Sheila Dixon Gets Indicted

The State Prosecutor's Office says a grand jury has indicted Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon on 12 counts, including perjury, theft, misappropriation and misconduct in office. The prosecutor's office announced the indictment on its Web site on the final day of a four-month grand jury session in which a City Council member and a prominent developer who once dated the mayor were indicted on public corruption charges.

Dixon's attorneys say they and the mayor will make statements later Thursday afternoon "in response to the charges brought today." If found guilty, she could face jail time.

Meanwhile, the two other powerful figures in Baltimore--Councilwoman Helen Holton and developer Ron Lipscomb--also face jail time. They were indicted earlier this week.
