Jay Z Tops The Source Magazine 'Power 30'

Unfortunately, Hov couldn't top 'Forbes Celebrity 100 list, but he did come in at number 1 on Source magazine's 'Power 30'.

Jay-Z is ranked No. 1 on Source magazine's new Power 30 list, which honors the top 30 power players in hip hop culture, business, politics, entertainment and lifestyle. The publication says Jigga rules the roost because he's an industry leader and a top businessman - with ventures including Live Nation, his clothing line Rocawear, and his part-ownership of the New Jersey Nets. Other Power 30 list-makers include Diddy, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, will.i.am, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and Kimora Lee Simmons. President Barack Obama also made the list because of his influence on the new hip-hop generation.

The Source Says No To Booty, Booty, Booty Rockin' Everywhere!

The Source magazine announced this week that they will no longer allow lewd products to run ads in their pages any longer. Despite a recession and those types of ads filling half of the magazine's pages, publisher Londell McMillan said he won't run any more "booty ads," pornographic websites or escort services. With the hip-hop industry being the target of media and activist groups for misogynist lyrics and images of scantily clad women for years, the mag feels its time to make a stand. (Kels Sidebar: That's not all they need to pull. They need to pull the editor because The Source has soooo fallen off).
