Respect Or Disrespect?

Will this make the TV Mogul blow her lid or what? This is supposed to be a tribute to Oprah in the form of a full figured bronze sarcophagus which was favored by Egyptian royalty when burying their dead. The artist, Daniel Edwards, is the same one who created the controversial pregnant Britney Spears sculpture.

Revenge Of The Nerds

During my interview on Sunday with Lupe Fiasco, he told me that him, Kanye, and Pharrell would be doing the 'Glow In The Dark' tour this spring. I didn't think he was lying but you know sometimes you have to look at people sideways because they will say something and you'll be like yea-sure-when?

Rihanna, and NERD will also be on the tour. The dates to be announced soon.

Beyonce To Sing The Blues

Beyonce, who played a Diana Ross-like girl group lead singer in the 2006 film Dreamgirls, may have lined up a new musical film role. She has reportedly been cast as feisty blues singer Etta James in the new '50s-era film Cadillac Records. James, known for her ballad "At Last," also had a string of up-tempo early '60s hits like "Tell Mama" and "Don't Cry Baby."

The film, currently in preproduction, stars Oscar winner Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, the founder of blues label Chess Records, and Jeffrey Wright as blues legend Muddy Waters. Others who have signed on for the project include Cedric the Entertainer, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Columbus Short. Filming is scheduled for later this year in New Jersey and Mississippi.

Meanwhile, Beyonce is scheduled to perform a duet with Tina Turner on the 50th annual Grammy Awards telecast, February 10th from Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Snoop Volunteers To Write New Theme Song For Soaps

Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg loves ABC's soap opera One Life To Live. After hearing that Mary J. Blige taped a two-day performance and appearance on the show, the rapper put a call into the show's producers and volunteered to come up with a new theme song for the show.

The show's supervising music director, Paul Glass, told the New York Post's Page Six, "I'm a huge fan of Snoop and I'd love to hear what he'd come up with."

In related news, while Snoop Dogg may be affiliated with Los Angeles' Crips street gang, the rapper is all about peace. He explained: "I dream about peace in the world, you know what I'm sayin'? Just non-violent, you know no wars, no deaths, no accidents, you know positive stuff like that where it can be happy all the time 'cause that's how I like to get down."

LIL WAYNE FORMALLY CHARGED WITH FELONY CHARGES

The Yuma County Attorney's Office filed felony drug and weapons charges against Lil Wayne Friday following his arrest late Tuesday in southern Arizona.

The 25-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was charged in justice court in Wellton, Ariz., with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He had been held in a Yuma County jail until his court date Friday, when a judge set him free on bail and lifted a restriction prohibiting him from leaving the state. Due in Richmond, Va. for a concert Friday night at the Landmark Theater, he arrived more than three hours late because his plane had to be rerouted.

According to The Richmond-Times Dispatch, Wayne muddled through performances of "I'm a D-Boy " and "Duffle Bag Boy," before walking off the stage. Some frustrated fans began to leave the venue when the artist finally returned with new energy and an apology for his erratic behavior.

"I just flew in 10 minutes ago. I just had to deal with a whole lot of bulls**t today, but I guess you know that," Lil Wayne reportedly told the crowd. "I want you to know that no one in this building had nothing to do with the attitude I got right now- some sh*t happened today that made me look at life in a different way. I'm pissed off to the highest point right now and trying to get it together for y'all."

Lil Wayne performed for the next hour and received an enthusiastic response, the paper reported.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans native is due back in Yuma County for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 12. As previously reported, Wayne's tour bus was flagged by a Border Patrol canine unit that detected the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the bus yielded nearly 4 ounces of marijuana, just over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

Officials also found a .40-caliber pistol registered to Wayne, who has a concealed weapons permit in Florida.
